1. The current award for the title of World’s Best Burping is $500. Award will be made in the form of a check made payable to the winner of the competition. The World Burping Association will not lower the amount of this prize but reserves the right to increase this prize amount at any time and as many times throughout the year as it so chooses.

2. Any taxes – federal, state, local or other – are the sole responsibility of the winner.

3. Videos submitted for competition must meet the following requirements:

a. Competitor must state their name in the video. Their name can be
their full name, first name, nick-name or username.
b. In the video, the competitor must say “Burp For Fame”.
c. In the video, the competitor must perform their burp. This must be
an actual video of them burping and the burping portion of their video
can not be in any way mixed, mashed, augmented, mastered or otherwise revised.
d. If you already have a great burping video, you can add some video with
you saying your name and “Burp For Fame”. The combined video can
be used as the competition video.
e. The maximum length for all competition videos is 30 seconds.
f. Competition videos may not contain any profanity, nudity, illegal content,
or anything that may be deemed offensive. The World Burping Association, LLC
reserves the full right to determine what content appears on any of its websites.

4. You must be a BackStage Pass holder in good standing to be eligible to receive the competition prizes to be awarded by the World Burping Association.

5. A BackStage Pass holder in good standing means that your monthly member fees are paid and current and that there have been no lapses in your membership.

6. If the submitter of the winning video of any monthly finalist is not in good standing, the award will go to the next highest video in descending order until a finalist who is a BackStage Pass holder in good standing is awarded the title of monthly finalist. If at any time prior to the yearly competition, the finalist allows their BackStage Pass membership to lapse, they will be disqualified and the next highest video submitter who is a BackStage Pass holder in good standing will be awarded the title.

7. If the winner of the yearly competition is not in good standing, the award will go to the next highest video in descending order until a BackStage Pass holder in good standing is awarded the title of World’s Best Burper for the year.

8. There will be no refunds of any BackStage Pass holder monthly or yearly membership fees or competition fees for any reason – this includes but is not limited to disqualification due to inappropriate content and duplicate accounts.

9. Voting on video competition entries for any given monthly competition will be done by BackStage Pass members only. BackStage Pass members will only be permitted to vote on any video one time per competition round. The top 20 videos will progress to the semi-finalist round as long as they are a member in good standing.

10. In the semi-finalist round, voting on video competition entries will be done by all visitors to BurpForFame.com that choose to vote. The highest scoring male video for the month and the highest scoring female video for the month will be awarded the title of finalist of the month as long as they are a member in good standing. Visitors will only be permitted to vote on any video one time per competition round.

11. For each yearly competition, the finalists for the months of December through November of the following year will compete in December for the title of World’s Best Burper as long as they are a member in good standing. For the year 2008, there are no finalists for the month of December and therefore the competition will include finalists for January through November of 2008. In the yearly competition, voting on video competition entries will be done by all visitors to BurpForFame.com that choose to vote. Visitors will only be permitted to vote on any video one time per competition round.

12. In all competition rounds, each video submitted will be voted upon based on a scoring system of a scale from 1 to 10. In the event of a tie, the video with the highest number of submitted scores will break the tie. In the event a tie still remains, the tie-breaker will be determined by a three-person board of the World Burping Association.

13. Any competitor that submits a video but does not become a finalist may re-submit their video or may submit a new video without paying an additional competition fee for one year from the date of their original competition fee payment as long as they are a BackStage Pass holder in good standing.

14. All persons submitting video content have agreed to the video release.

15. It is the responsibility of all competitors to keep their contact information current with the World Burping Association, LLC. Any competitor that does not keep their contact information current will be subject to forfeiting any competition awards if the World Burping Association, LLC can not locate the winner using the contact information provided by the competitor to the World Burping Association, LLC.

16. The World Burping Association, LLC reserves the right to decide what content in any format is or is not appropriate to appear on this site without any compensation to the submitter of the content.

17. The World Burping Association, LLC reserves the right to revise these competition rules at any time without notice. It is the responsibility of the visitor, competitor, BackStage Pass holder and/or member to check back for any changes.
